Creation or Evolution?

There is one tiny little bit of mental space that people of faith share with people of science…
Where and how did anything begin?
This is where science and organized religion both fail us.
What if, one day, science and religion come to the same conclusion?
That conclusion being that at some point, there was an accidental birth of life. How and what that life was, is where the conflict will arise.
The accidental emergence of a single cell cannot, in my mind, explain the complicated process of the evolution and development that led us to what we now experience in life.
Perhaps, rather than a single cell, the accidental birth was one of energy, an intelligence that simply “had” to bring itself forth and exist. Call it what you will – energy, spirit, mind, God, or the universal source, it is simply something that was compelled to spring forth. No matter what we discover scientifically or spiritually, it is my belief that we can never go beyond one of these two options.
1) A single cell emerged for unknown reasons and proceeded to evolve into what we now see, and what we don’t see.
2) A universal source of life and energy sprung forth for unknown reasons to expand via the art of creation and continues to exist and expand.
Following option two, upon the birth of this universal energy, the logical progression would assume that it had no choice but to expand by the art of creation to fill the void that surrounded it and bring forth life throughout space that is as of yet, without boundaries that we can see.
Option one has a huge flaw in that science cannot explain the “need” to learn, grow and develop, or the need to create which is typical of the human condition. Science can only explain evolution as a means of survival. Surely that is not the only purpose of human life – to simply survive? If that were the case, then the question arises – survive for what? Death?
I choose to believe option two. The only logical explanation that I have found is that somehow, an intelligent mind emerged and then followed its own logical path of expansion. It is that spirit of expansion and creation that perpetuates itself in mankind.
The path of expansion led to the creation of many life forms which included evolution and all of the other scientific details that apply to the universe as we know it.
This intelligent energy which I call God, is not a wizard nor is he a magician.
He is simply the beginning and the center of the universe and therefore experiences no death. He loves all of his creation, without prejudice. Death and destruction are against his nature, the nature of creation and expansion.
Scientists have determined that the universe is constantly expanding. This cannot be explained as an act of evolution because it is an expansion of all that is. More space is developing around what already exists.
The expansion is probably required for the survival of life, but still, it is not evolution.
Can it be that the answer to life’s mysteries are out there, just waiting for us to ask the right questions?
Those who believe in God and those who are writing some inspiring principles of positive thinking are putting forth the idea that we are co-creators. This is not a new idea, but it is one that is just now getting the attention it deserves.
Perhaps as co-creators with the Universal Source, we are subconsciously taking care of future business by believing that this world will perpetually exist for our descendants, and therefore, it expands to accommodate us.
If co-creation is an absolute truth, and if co-creation is a simple concept or practice that is not being utilized by the majority of humans, just imagine what endless possibilites are just over the horizon for each of us not only as a group of earthlings, but as individuals.
It boggles the mind.
Is it possible?
All the answers to the problems we face are within our reach if we would only use our minds and energy appropriately and for the good of all. That possibility is certainly one worth exploring.
Major religions teach the principles of life over death and good over evil. They teach creation, bearing good fruit, and multiplying, all of which fit into the major category of expansion. Evil is the opposite of expansion. Evil is death and destruction.
Mankind hungers for stories that tell of good overcoming evil. These stories are not only perpetuated in our daily lives, but in many religious texts, fictional books, television shows, movies and fairy tales. These are the stories that touch us, move us to action and feed our spirits. Most of humanity revels in the joys of good destroying evil, light conquering the darkness and love winning over hatred.
Yes, I choose option two. I live because of a cosmic universal source that sprang forth and saw the need for creation and the perpetuation of life.
I believe that it goes against human nature to believe that all life forms are a mere accident of evolution.
A single cell did not have dreams and desires and a heart capable of great love and great sorrow. If one believes that the human spirit developed over time, then why would it be so hard to believe the spirit developed first?
The Great Spirit sprang forth.
The sudden emergence of the Great Spirit, in my opinion, is more believable than the sudden emergence of a single cell which sprang forth without dreams, desires, or the ability to love.
Live in Harmony with what is.
