Great Spirit Prayer

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by by Sandra Cobb

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, Whose breath gives life to all the world,

Hear me; I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.

Help me to remain calm and strong in the face of all that comes towards me.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

Help me seek pure thoughts and act with the intention of helping others.

Help me find compassion without empathy overwhelming me.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy – Myself.

Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes.

So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.

I heard a minister say that we are all created to solve a problem in this world.
While I can’t say if this is a true statement of fact, I can say that anyone who follows the teachings of Jesus, the will of God, or the teachings of many enlightened masters of the past, will most [...]

      Am I a lightworker?
I hope so – and I’d like to think so.
If not, then I certainly am working on it.
If you believe that all lightworkers are “new-age” people and are to be shunned…  I hope you will at least read what I have to say before you make an irrational decision based on [...]

What is Reiki?

My Kundalini mentor and teacher, Alice Langholt, recently posted the following excerpt on her blog, and I could not have stated it any clearer than she has...
"Practicing Reiki is a way of putting one's awareness on the energy aspect in order to intend for that life force energy inside us to connect to the grid of the energy around us, and flow more of it to another living being, ourselves, a goal, or the earth itself. We are always connected to this energy, but the act of intending to connect, "turning on" the Reiki energy, raises our awareness of this connection so we can ask for this energy to flow in a certain way. When I do this, I have a physical response in the form of tingles in my hands, and a light pressure around my head and face. Every time. This physical-spiritual connection is consistently validated when I'm working with Reiki energy."
This is similar to what I feel also, except that I feel the tingling in my hands and get a bit light-headed, as well as having a tingling or butterfly sensation in the pit of my stomach.
