Edgar Cayce Reading for Easter

I admit I have become  a bit jaded when I see or hear those claiming to be Christian bombard us with their boldness to stand up for Christ, while their day to day live continue to ignore the teachings of Jesus.

That being said, I have always enjoyed the teachings of Edgar Cayce, who always put the teachings of Jesus FIRST in his life.

His reading for Easter, although several decades old (March 24, 1940 ), still applies to us today.

Then, as ye meditate upon the meaning of the resurrection of this man of God—know that the way is open to thee to approach the throne of God; not as an excuse, not as a justification, but rather in love, in harmony, in that which brings hope for a sin-sick world.

Each individual, then, may act, may live, may pray—in his or her own little sphere of activity—in such a manner as to bring peace and harmony, even among those who appear to be at variance to the cause of the Christ in the material world.

Harmony of Self Image and Weight

Many people struggle with weight issues, and I am among them. I have owned nearly every piece of exercise equipment the fitness gurus have come up with but I lack the motivation to exercise regularly.

Last year, I used Reiki to help myself lose 25 pounds. Over the next year, I gained 15 of those pounds back. The stresses of college took precedence over my health.

This week, I started remembering what it was like to be lean and thin, and healthy. By healthy I just mean able to walk across the parking lot loaded down with bags of groceries without getting winded. Although I would love to be able to do more than that, just being able to enter the apartment without gasping for air and then heading for the couch when the groceries are put away, would be a drastic improvement.

ANAHEIM, CA - MAY 07: Dancer Maksim Chmerkovs...

I remembered how much I loved to dance when I was younger. As I started thinking about it, I realized that I went dancing at least three nights a week, and danced around the house a bit too. Hmmm.

I record “Dancing With The Stars” so my daughter and I can watch it together as her busy schedule permits. So, I started – this week – playing the show every morning and DANCING along with them! It is so much fun! Mind you, I don’t dance LIKE them, I just dance WITH them. Also, I don’t last for very long, yet.

When the slow songs come on, I take advantage of yoga stretches which are more fun when set to music. I attempt to rekindle dances of ages past when the fast songs are playing, and luckily no one is home to see my performance.

It has been remarkable to watch the transformations of some of the dancing stars, such as Kirstie Alley, shown with her teacher, Maksim (my favorite!) in the photo on the right. You may be aware that Kirstie has tried and temporarily succeeded to lose weight using many different techniques, but dancing seems to be the one that has worked the longest.

I have HOPE that this is going to work for me, but this morning I realized I still needed to work on my cravings.

I found a wonderful article on food versus fuel, body image and self image, and health in general that resonated within me. There are a few practices one can do to fully understand their relationship with food and discover what the body – each individual body – really needs for fuel.

This information is shamanic elder wisdom provided by ThunderStrikes, and I encourage you to read the full article here.

Keep Breathing

I just heard the most wonderful song by Kerrie Roberts called “Keep Breathing.”

Take a moment to listen to it.

You won’t regret it.

Then pass it on, share it with someone, you’ll know who.

The lyrics are posted beneath the youtube video.

You wait in darkness for answers that you can’t see
You know what you deserve
And you’re wondering why your life is
Not what you thought it should be

When the night breaks, your heart still aches
How can you face the day?

Just keep breathing, you’ll make it
Don’t give in, you’re not done yet
Sometimes all that you can do is keep breathing and believing
Don’t let go, just hang on tighter a little longer

When you feel like you’re dying, keep breathing
Don’t give up, don’t give in, don’t let go
No, you’re not done
Don’t give up, don’t give in, don’t let go

When every moment is almost more than you can take
You’ve got to know some tomorrow will bring you a breakthrough
It’s the reason why you got to get through today
When the night’s gone you will be strong

Keep breathing, you’ll make it
Don’t give in, you’re not done yet
Sometimes all that you can do is keep breathing and believing
Don’t let go, just hang on tighter a little longer

With every breath you’re bringing hope
[ Kerrie Roberts Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
You’re letting go of all your doubts
When nothing is easy, you got to keep going
Even when you don’t know how
You don’t have to know how, no

Keep breathing, you’ll make it
Don’t give in, you’re not done yet
Sometimes all that you can do is keep breathing and believing
And don’t let go, just hang on tighter a little longer, whoa

Keep breathing, you’ll make it
Don’t give in, you’re not done yet
Sometimes all that you can do is keep breathing and believing
And don’t let go, just hang on tighter a little longer

Keep breathing, don’t give up
No, you’re not done yet
Don’t give up, don’t give in
Don’t let go, no, you are not done yet

Don’t give up, don’t give in
Don’t let go, no, you are not done
Don’t give up, don’t give in
Don’t let go, no, you are not done

Don’t give up, don’t give in
Don’t let go, no, you are not done.
